Passenger is a brand rooted in Escapism. Dreamed up by founder Rich Sutcliffe and partner Alexa, whilst travelling the wilds of the Pacific Northwest in their T4 campervan.
But Passenger’s home has always been the New Forest, nestled among tall pines and sandy shorelines, it’s a place to share stories, collaborate, and think big.
When is it you feel most alive? What is it that recharges you? What would you do if you had an empty to-do list and an open mind? Passenger calls this pursuit of wellbeing, mental health and physical health in the outdoors, ‘Meaningful Escapism’. A feeling that pulls you to break free from the everyday, to wander, travel, and connect. A chance to take the long way round, breathe deep under wide skies, and surround yourself in nature.
Passenger believes that helping people easily enjoy the outdoors makes them fall in love with nature and want to protect it. That's why their Plant & Protect program is at the heart of the brand.
What is Plant & Protect?
True to their roots, for every product sold in partnership with their stockists, Passenger plants a tree. It’s something they’ve always done, and always will do. And a simple way to give back to our greatest playground. As of August 2025, Passenger has planted well over 2 million trees and helped protect over 177 million sqm of rainforest.
Alongside their tree planting programme, they also fund projects to protect coastal mangrove habitats and rewild areas devastated by wildfires.
Where are the trees planted?
Passenger works with long-time conservation partner Trees for the Future, and has planted trees and empowered local farmers throughout Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Senegal and Mali. Read more about their Plant & Protect initiative here.
Over 74% of Passenger’s range is made using recycled or organic materials, and the brand is working with Fairly Made to provide visibility and transparency over its supply chain, eventually tracking the footprint of every product in its range.
