Billy Rowe – Embrace The Freedom

Team Rider - Billy Rowe

Each skater has their own story to tell, and it should not be under-estimated just how important a role skateboarding can play in people’s lives

Billy Rowe

Billy is one of our own at Ann’s Cottage, having joined us at the age of 16 as a seasonal staff member. He’s now a familiar and friendly face at our Wadebridge store, where he has worked for the last four years as a supervisor, as well as being our resident skateboarding expert.

It just so happens he’s pretty sick on a skateboard too. So insanely good, in fact, that we signed him up to our ambassador program, where we are proud to have him as one of our team riders.

Billy will be one of millions around the globe celebrating Go Skateboarding Day on June 21st, as everybody, from pros to newbies, are encouraged to get out and pick up a board. But before then we checked in with him to talk about all things skateboarding.

How long have you been skateboarding for?

10 years

What is your ultimate ambition in skateboarding?

To forever enjoy it as much as I enjoy it now.

What is it about skateboarding you love the most?

I love the freedom of skateboarding and the thrill of landing a trick you have been trying.

What would your advice be to anybody thinking about skateboarding for the first time?

Get prepared to fall off a lot and wear a helmet because they ARE cool!

If somebody was looking for their first skateboard what should they look out for?

Just to make sure that you feel comfortable on the deck and that you are comfortable with your stance and always ask for help

If you want to hear more of Billy’s expertise, pop into our Wadebridge store and say ‘hi’. Our Wadebridge store has recently become one of our specialist skate store whereby Bill ,along with his colleagues, are able to kit you out to skate.
